Artist Bio:

Patty Talbert earned her BFA in Studio Art at UNO in 2001 and completed her summer training with MacArthur Award winner Debra Willis at the prestigious Smithsonian African American Museum of History and Culture. Patty was also trained in Batiking under the watchful eye of the talented late Jamaican artist Dawn Scott. These techniques are the foundation and inspiration for her more than 3 dozen exhibitions which consist of over 400 original paintings. Her honors include Visual Arts nominee for Emerging Artist, Best 2D, Best Public Art, and Artist of the Year in OEAA. NBC, WOWT and KETV, ABC have all featured broadcasts on her North Omaha Neighborhood Affirmation Project, and was a featured guest on HeartlandFocus. Two years ago Patty was allowed to participate in the Art + Infrastructure/Omaha by Design Orbit Bus Mural Project. This exposure has opened her artwork up to a new world of future public art on a larger scale.
