During the pandemic, I was forced to slow down and appreciate the beauty of nature. I’ve always been an outdoorsy kind of guy, but during the pandemic, I immersed myself in nature, kayaking and hiking all the time. In doing so, I realized how a sunrise on the lake can make your whole day, or seeing a pollinator fly from prairie flower to prairie flower can lighten the mood. I found myself taking picture after picture, and several hours had slipped by. I love photographing waterfowl; Great Blue Herons and pelicans are my favorite. I hope by sharing my love for the natural world, I will inspire others to slow down and appreciate the simple beauty that surrounds us.
